 | Las Vegas Be Aware / Be Prepared Reviews | Tips 1 - 10 of 35 | | Please, whatever you do, cross the streets at the signals where it is safer. Everyday there is some tourist that gets hit by a car and I know you don't want to spend your vacation in the hospital. Just remember, most of the people that are driving on the strip have been drinking. Please, just be aware of your surroundings and watch for cars. Leave a Comment

Distances are extremely deceiving in Las Vegas. The casino next door may look just next door but it's actually a long hike ... and by the time you scope out the inside of multiple huge strip casinos during the day, you've walked a long way. Unless you plan to just stick to one casino (and what fun is that!) you can expect to hike many, many miles while in Las Vegas. Leave a Comment

This is not true. Well, it may be true depending on where you go, but I spent some time alone in Vegas and this did not happen to me. I'd be warned about it, was concerned, but it didn't happen. Most people are generally friendly and I didn't even have the occasion of anyone saying anything out of line. The closest I came to having this happen was while having a drink at Bellagio and waiting for a friend when the man sitting next to me asked if I was local. I don't think he meant anything by it and there was never a time when anyone presumed anything of this sort about me. Leave a Comment

Never leave any slot machine that you're playing for any reason, ie: change, grabbing a container for your winnings, whatever. People have been known to sit down at your machine and assume your place, keeping your winnings or credits. Leave a Comment

Watch out for the buffets; they're vastly overrated. For the most part, they're cheap and they're filling, but the food is about as tasty and satisfying as eating plastic. Leave a Comment

Some of the hard-to-find things in Vegas... Clocks, drinking fountains, and exits from the large casinos. There was no coffee maker in our Harrah's Hotel room. Club Cappuccino, the cafe, in the lobby, has coffee... $3.00 for a 20 oz. cup. Water was even more expensive! A 16 ounce bottle of water in Harrah's cost $3.25; that's $26.00 a gallon! However, a 16 ounce bottle of water off the strip could be found for one dollar. Leave a Comment

The light plane ride crossing the Grand Canyon is the most death defying experience I have had. It's slightly worse than falling off a cliff edge. But, it's the best way to see the canyon, and the quickest way to Las Vegas. So, live with it… Americans are good flyers.... Oh, by the way, the loud beep is not a crash warning. It apparently happens when you try to land cross wind… Leave a Comment

For those of you who are as addicted as I am ...the coffee in U.S. truck stops sucks. Restaurant, gas station, and hotel coffee are just cups of glorified hot water(Mc. Donalds seemed to be okay though). To really get that zing that you need, you'll have to fork out at Starbucks...which I find strange since starbucks an american company that is everywhere in Canada,I just assumed that Canadian and American coffee would be the same.
