 | London Westminster Abbey Reviews | 31 - 40 of 233 | | Better known to most people as Westminster Abbey, this unique piece of architecture is home to the coronations of every British monarch save two since 1066. Years upon years of history lay beneath these halls. To go much deeper on this site would not do the Abbey justice, so I would highly recommend visiting the site. If you would like some pre-reading on the history prior to your trip, please reference the link below! Leave a Comment

Almost every Monarch was crowned in Westminster Abbey and the weddings and coronations are all held here. The building dates back to the thirteenth century and the detail of the building is amazing. The current charge per adult is £7.50 into the Abbey. Leave a Comment

even seeing this from the outside is moving, knowing how many ceremonies have taken place here, and to be able to stand in the very place monarchy has stood is overwhelming. though it is only open on certain days, it is worth seeing. Leave a Comment

One of the must sees for all tourist in London. Danielle and I both enjoyed walking through the Abbey and seeing all of the crypts and memorials. It was like walking through a documented history book. It was difficult getting a good picture of Westminister Abbey because of the way it is located on the street. It was also a little smaller than I had anticipted. Leave a Comment

We went on a day they had an evensong service. They weren´t letting in visitors but if you were there for the service you could go in. Its a cool way to see the Abbey. There was a men and boys choir singing. It sounded great. It lasted about an hour and some people that were sitting near the choir looked like they were falling asleep. Some in the audience too, even the guy reading. It was cool though. Leave a Comment

Dating back to the High Middle Ages, this is the place where the monarchs of Britain have been crowned for centuries. It is a magnificent structure of the 14th and 15th centuries. In addition to being where monarchs are crowned, many are entombed here as well. Including Mary of Scotland and Queen Elizabeth I. There is a museum on the premises as well as a gift shop. Tours are offered.

Westminster Abbey - formally called the Collegiate Church of St. Peter, Westminster - was originally built by Edward the Confessor in the mid 11th century. The building is of Anglo-French Gothic style, and it is the traditional site for coronations and burials of English monarchs. Many famous Englishmen are also buried here, and the Abbey was an important location in Dan Brown's Da Vinci Code. Entry to the Abbey costs GBP10 for adults and GBP6 for children (2006 prices). A gothic church built between the 13th and 15 century, also known as the church of kings as all kings and queens are coronated here and the church is free from ruling of any bishop and even the pope. The sovereign ruling the country also rules this church. The church features a lot of Tombs from past king and queens and also many famous people from around the world, including poets and novelists as well as scientists. The decoration here is unbelieveable, especially the tombs of Queen Victoria which is exquisite to say the least. Leave a Comment
