A beautiful peach-coloured 17th century church located on Plaza San Andrés. It was built in honour of San Isidro two centuries after his death.

A beautiful church in old Madrid, located off Calle Mayor near Catedral de la Almudena. It is a great example of barroco (Baroque) madrileño architecture. Constuction began in the 17th century and continued well into the 18th century.

ANCIENT CHURCH DOORS

and for me these doors are very special: I love them, the way someone, long ago has worked to create a firm, heavy and good door, ornated it with special nails and he must have asked the smith to forge some nice rings for this then new door, he must have felt proud.....the moment it could be used for the first time.

2 years ago I made wonderful CALENDERS with on each page such a wonderful DOOR from all over the world......

A beautiful church that you definitely should pay a visit.
If you can, try to get inside, for some reason, which I don't
remember, we weren't supposed to be let inside, but give
it a try, we succeded at least! =)

	Churches: Escorial Monastary

Need a car to get there. Not a far drive, about 1/2 hour. On the way there you see Franco's house alone on a mountain. Huge monastery, beautiful architecture, worth the 8 euros to enter. Lots of hiking nearby. We hiked a short climb to get a view of the monastary from above. There is also a golf course nearby. Beautiful!

I could not find any information about this church except for its name, but it is one of the most architecturally impressive ones I have seen in Madrid.
