Museo del Jamon is a chain of deli/cafe/restaurants in Madrid, which appear to sell every type of deli-style meat available.
We had a huge breakfast at the one in Plaza Mayor, sitting in the sun and people watching.

Of course, this is the place to taste to heavenly Jamón Serrano, a kind of smokey-dried ham. You can ask for a sandwich (bocata), have it alone with olive oil, with bread and tomato... Leave a Comment

Where can you get two ham and cheese sandwiches, potato tortilla (similar to a potato quiche), cerveza and two cafe con leches for $8.20 Euro?! And the food tastes good!
Note: If you're a vegetarian, this might not be the best place for you to eat!

Museo del Jamon this is a net of shops-restaurants with excellent choice od spanish delicious ham (jamon). sausages (salchicio) and chees. You can eat there inside or get the food takeaway.
of cours the tasty jamon - the sandwich with ham is called bocadillo jamon
You can drink here too cerveza ( beer), very good is the local beer Mahou.

This restaurant may be a chain, but that's not always a bad thing. In fact, for a quick bite, or a longer sit-down, the food is great, the prices are reasonable, and in the case of this location - the view can't be beat!

Best place to eat if on a budget. They are quite fast too! Except for paella which they take some time to prepare.
Calamari Bocadillo! Fried calamari as filling in a baguette. 2.30 Euros
Hot Chocolate and Churros. Don't forget to sprinkle sugar over the churros if you have a sweet tooth. Very thick chocolate as well. 1.30Euros. Cheap! Other places cost slightly more than 2Euros.
Seafood Paella for two is 10.90Euros. Portion is humongous! Probably takes 4-5 ppl to finish the whole dish. You will find many of them around Madrid center....
I would not say is a good one, but is ideal for a quick stop for lunch to have some jamon or cheese, and not bad priced

This is a must to visit for anyone coming to Madrid. In the first floor you will find a take-away area and a bar for fast style tapas, in the lower ground you can sit for a longer meal.
Options are extensive, food is quite fresh and tasty.

At this chain of restaurant-cafe you can buy some very good bread with ham, salami or with other fillings of various sizes.
Museo del Jamon is also a restaurant. I cannot recommend it at the moment because I only went there once.

This place is a chain so just look for the red letters that you see in this picture. This one is near the Prado Museum on Castellana. There's another in Plaza Mayor and another on Calle de San Jeronimo near Puerta del Sol among others. The place is pretty basic. You'll walk in and order from a bar or in some locations there is restaurant style seating.
They have everything from shrimp with garlic to simple ham sandwiches. Obviously, they are known for their ham (jamon), so I would recommend a simple bocadillo de jamon serrano (ham sandwich). This is literally a sandwich with only ham and bread, but boy is it good ham and good bread.
