Just accross the bridge into Trastevere this small bar spills out into a little square, with candles burning and throngs of good looing people perched on the wall surrounding the square. The bar had a real buzz, which is what first draws the attention from the bottom of the steps, I found it to be a really friendly little bar with a good mix of patrons, the staff were friendly too and only too happy to help. Cocktails are a speciality and the Mojitos were amazing especially on a hot summers evening - the whole cocktail list looked fantastic and there seemed a good wine list too, although regretably I didn't sample any. There was also a very tempting buffet on offer which looked much better than the 2nd rate tourist crap I'd just eaten. The decor of the place was a juxtopisition between the futuristic and reclaimed which created a unique ambience. This place features a constantly-changing ethnic-style disco that has become increasingly popular over the last few years: house, jungle, hip hop and tribal music are compulsory sounds. Perhaps it is the best known club at the moment . GOA’s probably the closest thing to a NYC club over here. On Sundays, there are the rhythms of the surfin' and happenin' 'Surf Revolt'. Gay night is on Tuesdays. The disco can hold up to 700 people with a central bar that is surrounded by sofas. Vineria Reggio is a great enoteca located directly on Campo di Fiori. They have a huge selection of wines by the bottle and offer around 30 different wines by the glass too. If you drink your glass of wine inside at the bar you pay 1 Euro less by the glass than if your served outside. It's great to sit inside and watch people but its fantastic sitting outside in the evening overlooking the piazza. Finnegans is an Irish owned bar in Rome. It feels like a typical Irish bar, with good Irish brew (Guinness is a given - although I am not a fan of the drink myself). It is a great bar to go to as it is not on the main streets of Rome (but is still in the historical centre) and therefore a lot of the people who come here are locals - well okay, a lot of them are Irish or from the UK, but they're not likely to be the same tourists who were checking out the Trevi Fountain or Spanish Steps. The atmosphere is great - sit at the bar and have a chat with the staff, play a game of pool (billiards) in the back room, sit outside, or sit at one of the booths/tables and just relax. When I went here it was because there was a 'friendly' football match on - Ireland v. Italy - Italy won 1-2. If you're looking to watch anything sports related to Ireland (Rugby, football, gaelic football, hurling) - they will, more than likely, be showing it here. So, if you're in Rome, but for some reason feel the need for a good Irish pub - then this is your place. So, I didn't actually discover Supperclub in San Francisco. Years before they even opened their San Francisco venue I had my first Supperclub experience in Roma. Truly an experience. Great performances, drink, music, fashion and night culture. Fun was had by all. Tip: Be sure to make advanced reservations if you plan on doing the dinner/show. Otherwise the two bars (one with DJ music) are open to the public.
Fashion forward. Remember, you're in Italy and Italians know how to dress... sleek and fashionable. Check what the current treds are and look at the photos on the Supperclub website (www.supperclub.com). For travelers, I think the little black dress or black dress pants is a safe choice.

This little pub is located in the heart of Trastevere and it is always full of people (not only because is little!). The good quality of the beer attracts a lot of guests, but also the friendly manners of the staff and the special atmosphere you feel here give an important contribute to the success of this place. An other significant point is that Big Gilda is in a strategic position, where people use to stroll frequently. Sometime you can also enjoy (it seems impossible for the limited space) live music! To tell you the truth, I was very optimistic regarding place in a restaurant for the New Year dinner. Since we were only two, I told my wife it wont be problem and there is no need to book place in advance. How wrong! I was many many times in Italy but this was only second time that am staying during new year ev. The first one was in Milano, years ago, and I spend it in a home of my friends. We decided to search for the place somwhere in between Piazza del Popolo and Piazza della Spagna, since there are number of small and cozy restaurants and trattorias. It took us more than hour in strolling around because all places in the restaurants were booked in advance. It was passed 10:30PM and we vere pretty much hungry and nervous being affraid that this evening might be a total disaster. Finally I managed to convince one trattoria holder, in a small side street, to serve us dinner out on the table in front. It was the best food we had in our four days in Rome. I was so exited and happy and have forget to take the pictures. The next day we went again in that area but unfortunatelly couldn't find the place. Leave a Comment Theme: Other

We had something like OOOOOoooh! And the OOOooh-feeling doesn't bump up that often. This is a bar located on a little square- the piazza Mattei , which is known for it's foutain with tortoises. There are some simple chairs were you can sit down and enjoy the sound of the water of this little square. Most tourist don't seem to come to this place. I don't like those huge squares were you have to sit packed on one of those terraces. (often with a group of noisy 'Hollanders' at your side) We had already a long day going - inside the ceiling is quit low . An eclectic collection of colorful sofas is waiting for you to hang , sit.... I discovered some local liquors on the menu.. That is what I wanted. Lemoncello. Delicious. A soon got a bit dizzy , the soft yazzy music made me dizzle.... Something else positive is that your not allowed to smoke cigarets inside. (ok that was positive for me -) We only found one like this in Rome - write it down , it is worth it! Leave a Comment Theme: Live MusicAddress: Piazza Mattei 9Phone: 06 68 92 299

In the heart of Testaccio area, you find this nice music restaurant, with a small dance floor, a piano bar on the 1st floor and a small restaurant on the roof garden, wich in the late hour becomes a dance floor as well. Joia cafe' it's one of new trend of romans, and it is possible to queue for a long time outside before getting in. Dance Music is very good and the drinks are delicious!
