 | Paris Montmartre & Pigalle Reviews | Tips 1 - 10 of 49 | | The steps just under the Sacre Coeur are polulated by tourists suring the day...when the sun goes down, the place is taken over by the young locals who go there to drink, talk with friends, play music and sing. Very authentic and relaxing "nightspot". The only warning: be very careful with the pickpockets! They tend to think that drunk tourists on the steps are easy targets...one of them just sat right beside me after talking to his mate...it was very strange...I just moved over and sure enough, he left as well very soon...

We had to go to Pigalle just for the experience, and what an experience it was. Once in the bar I turned to discover 4 transvestites sat at the table across from us. It made for really interesting " people watching " Also outside we could see people walking past the Moulin Rouge ( or should I say trying to walk past ) as they were being nearly dragged in by the men on the door!!!

Pigalle is a must see when in Paris, just to see the night spots, and what is on offer!! We had a drink in Le Chat Noir, rather overated and pricey, but great for people watching. Great atmosphere.
Anything I think is acceptable in the whole area, 4 transvestites where at the table opposite us, " Dressed to kill " Leave a Comment Theme: Adult SpotAddress: PigalleDirections: Pigalle |
Nice small pub with local people, near the Montmartre mountain. The "apéro de Montmartre" is a special blend of different spices with wine. Will you dare testing it ? :-) Leave a Comment Theme: Eating and DrinkingAddress: 17, rue des trois frèresPhone: 01 42 55 55 63Directions: Montmartre (Paris 18e) |
Very well located, just at the bottom of the "Butte Montmartre", Au Baroudeur offers great cocktails (taste the irish coffee...humm...) and comfortable sofas or sits. Just relax, while smoking a cigar or a cigarette ! Stroll around the Abbesses metro station during the evening and you will find many little bars and cafés that serve food and drink for locals and tourists alike. Very nice if you want to taste a more Parisian ambiance as opposed to clubs downtown. Montmartre is THE place to be once the sun sets in Paris. The lighted Sacre Coeur sits like a jewel on the highest point of the city. From her steps leading to the city at her feet, a multicultural musical extravaganza fills air. Bustling behind her is a quartier of artists and cafés. One of the most phenominal views of Paris is from here. A true celebration of world cultures here - live music, good onion soup, and an unforgetable view! On my last trip with students, I managed to 'get lost' for a while here. At the back of the church, down one of the steep alleyways, I heard the most melodious, angelique sound I've ever heard. There were 2 young girls practicing the songs that I would later hear them sing on the steps in front of Paris. It was one of those magical moments that I shall never forget. Me & Patrick explored The Montmartre Hill & we came to Place du Tetre... This is another famous area, which is just next/behind Sacre Coeur. Paintings & painters, people watching, people shopping, people drinking...many activities ! It is a lively area during the day ! At the time when we were there, almost midnight, there weren't that many activity anymore... Leave a Comment Theme: Other |
Me & Patrick walked back to our hotel; Again, we passed through some night scenes around Montmartre Areas...I took one photo of a cafe; So lively, even after midnight. We didn't go in to any of them because we had to go back for an early morning train back to London. [please click] Leave a Comment Theme: Nightclub |
