The slogan of Seafood Market is "If it swims we have it" and certainly the array of fresh fish, shellfish, lobsters, crabs and other seafood seems to bear this out. It is more like a large food court that a restaurant, seating I would imagine into the hundreds. your A waiter helps you choose what you want - not just seafood but vegetables and other accompaniments - from what looks like a huge fresh fish/deli counter at a supermarket. Fun in itself as you try and decide whether you want another huge shrimp or that extra bit of cuttlefish. If you are unsure the waiter is there to advise and, later, advice will also come on how best to have the food cooked and served such as in a in a Thai Curry Sauce, a soup, deep fried, boiled etc.. The standard of cooking is excellent and the service speedy. Seeing your piece of fish return having been tuned into a delicious chilli based curry is like the food equivalent of "Stars in Their Eyes". The cost is based on what you choose, its weight and the way it is cooked so you can either choose carefully and keep the price down or - especially if you go for the lobster - splash out and rack the price up. I would imagine a good average would be 30.00-40.00 sterling for two including drinks and a good amount of food. This is certainly not going to be the cheapest meal you can have in Bangkok but it will probably be one of the most memorable.
We had lobster, cuttlefish, huge shrimps, white fish and so much more I can't remember. It was all wonderful! Leave a Comment

Great variety of seafood and wine. A bit touristy, but well worth it. Outside the restaurant it looks like 100 iron chefs have decided to have a competition. Inside it looks like an oversized foodcourt in a super market. Grab a shopping cart, fill it up with pomfret, huge-jumbo (U 2-3) freshwater prawns, lobster, crabs, clams, etc and pay at the register. Bring it to your table and let the waiters help you decide what the best way to cook it is.
I would highly recommend the crabs, lobster thermidor (better than in France), grilled freshwater prawns and pomfret fried with garlic. Leave a Comment

The Seafood Market and Restaurant is a large destination spot in Bangkok. The main dining room seats 1500 people. There are private dinign rooms upstairs. I was lucky enough to enjoy this restaurant with my Thai friends. We were escorted upstairs to our private dining room, and then began the adventure of selecting our seafood from the display tanks. There were fish of all types, and most were still swimming! After we made our selections, my Thai friend directed how each entree should be prepared. After 10 minutes or so, the dishes began arriving to our table, where we ate family style, in the Thai tradition. There were 7 of us eating, and we had 7 servers. The service was incredible. The dishes ranged from traditional Tom Yun Kung Soup, to Tiger Prawns in Butter (DELICIOUS!), whitefish, and scallops. Everyhting was immaculately prepared. It was an unforgettable meal!
The Tiger Prawns were so delicious. they had a delicate flavor, and melted in your mouth.

Seafood Market and Restaurant. Do not be mistaken by another restaurant with quite a similar name which has a International infront. They're logo is very much the same. The capacity of this restaurant is enormous. The ambience is brightly lighted, air-conditioned, clean and comfortable. It also has outdoor sitting and VIP rooms. First, you got to shop and purchase the meal requirements include vegetable, fruits, beverages at the market. The waiter will pick up your purchases at your table. The menu has the prices of different cooking style cater for your preference. Singaporean like to have steamed prawns when they are fresh but our french colleagues prefer them fried. The chef gave us both. The prices is reasonable for fresh seafood, good service, ambience, tasty cooking and a satifying meal. Of course, a normal road side seafood restaurant will have a price difference of about 20%-40% provided it is a trusted restaurant.

Their motto is 'If it swims, we have it' and nothing could be further from the truth. You choose your seafood, then choose your style of cooking - the seafood is delicious. This place is huge, but the service is good. If you can handle the heat, eat outside i nthe garden courtyard as the main inside area feels like a supermarket.
