  • Tip Rating:
  • South Africa is a fantastic surf destination. With two different oceans ý the icy Atlantic and the warm Indian ý bordering the country, there are a large numbered of surf spots with a wide variety of waves. So no matter if youýre a beginner or if youýve been around since Captain James Cook, youýll find something to suit you.

    SURFING THE WAVES.
  • Tip Rating:
  • South Africa is famous for many things and having some of the world's finest surfing spots is one of them. It's no wonder then that surfing is a sport that people take very seriously and that some radio stations have slots dedicated to giving the public information on the latest surfing conditions.

Kfm 94.5, the Western Cape's most popular radio station, is one of these. The radio station's best-loved slot is the surf report by Deon Bing, who lives in Noordhoek in the Western Cape. Every morning at 7.20am Deon peers out his window, checks out the waves and phones in to update listeners on the day 's surf. His report, which includes a summary of surfing conditions, is often a mishmash of humorous stories from his previous evening's escapades.Besides being a bit of a party animal, Deon 's biggest passion is surfing.

He has surfed in many oceans all over the world and has taken part in various events. Whether you have teenage kids who are wannabe surfers or who already surf, or you 've decided to pursue this dream for yourself, Deon offers invaluable information on how to get started and where to find the best waves.

    KYALAMI.
  • Tip Rating:
  • The 1 000 - hectare farm Kyalami takes its name from the Zulu "Kyalami", meaning "my home".
In 1961 , the farm was converted into a racing track for cars and motor - cycles.
From 1 January 1968 Kyalami became the scene of the annual world championship grand prix of South Africa.

Most of the road races of South Africa are staged at Kyalami.
Crowds of 100 000 are common at these events.

    SCUBA DIVING.
  • Tip Rating:
  • South Africa seas offer varied dive conditions, the warm Mocambique current makes coral reef diving possible.

South Africa has an enormously long coastline ranging from 35 degrees celsius to 27 degrees celsius ,which isn't quite within the usual range of tropical diving.

Whale sharks, turtles ,dolphins and ragged tooth sharks are often seen in specific areas.

Scuba gear to go down under to explore the unknown.
