My favorite restaurant is the Baccarat in Johannesburg. You will find it in the suburb of Rosebank. The food is buffet style and gives you everyting South Africa can offer. From Impala Steaks, Ostrich Filet, Oysters from Knysna etc etc as much as you can eat for about 12 Euro. Order a good bottle of Cape wine for another 10 Euro and paradise is here.

I really wouldn't know the name of the restaurant...
It's situated at the Westcoast beach,in Paternoster.
This is undoubtedly the atmosphere. Very relaxing,small restaurant,with only a few tables inside,and I think 4 tables outside on the terrace,overlooking the beach and sea......

HARD ROCK CAFE or PLANET HOLLYWOOD
If you are feeling a bit homesick for the US, head to one of these chain restaurants in Cape Town--you are bound to see the tourists and perhaps even run into an American or two. They still feature many US movie/rock stars, but there are also some tributes to a few of the hometown heroes such as Charlize Theron.
The menu doesn't really vary from any of the restaurants in the US, but at Planet Hollywood, I would recommend trying the BLUE HAWAIIN. The one in Port Elizabeth has a GREAT view of the city from their outdoor seating area--especially great to have a beer (or 5) while watching the sunset over the ocean.
Okay I don't know how it is spelled but I will do it phonetically : Brewurvworse or something like that--it is very similar to bratwurst. MORTON'S RESTAURANT in Cape Town on the Waterfront
In Cape Town, Morton's is an upscale restaurant and it is unusual to see younger people eating there as they have a hard time affording it. Though of course the US exchange rate helped here. For 2 people to have drinks, appetizer's, main course and dessert, our bill cam to a whopping $30.30 with tip! I could not get over how inexpensive food was--it is a great time to experiment with new things.

In the Cape Town area there are a huge number of superb restaurants to chose from. on the Waterfront alone you could eat for a month without getting bored. But for my money the very best is just over 80 Km outside the city in the Franschhoek valley, The Quartier Francais is mind blowing
The service is amazingly efficient but relaxed and friendly as well

Although there are excellent restaurants throughout the country you have to try 't Anker on the waterfront in Kaapstad. It's a Belgium restaurant and it's great, specially try the beer (Anker beer). Leave a Comment Theme: Other
