But there are tables there too. The food is worth checking it out, absolutely the best I tasted in S.A. Also their shakes are original and amazing!
the greek salad would have to be my favourite, loads of avocado spread around the top :-) Leave a Comment Theme: Vegan/VegetarianPrice: US$11-20 » Currency ConverterComparison: about averageAddress: They are a franchise and scattered about.Phone: call 1023 directory enquiries

For the coolest fast Foods adverts, Chicken Licken & Nandos get top spot; then you have Wimpeys, widespread in days when Big Mac D refused to enter SA because of your know what, KFC, Milky Lane, Oceanbasket, Mr KingPie, alternatively housewifes on streets, notably in Urban or transportation centres have freshly made Putu Nyama and Vetkoeks, even Peri peri chicken
South African love the MEATS ; PIES , be it curried, chicken, steak n Kidney , vegetarian are great just out of the oven; CHICKEN is between Chicken Licken - more flavourful than KFC from Kentucky: whilst NANDOS promotes its Mocambique/Portuguese origins: FISH n CHIPS is upgraded by OceanBasket and similarly named; Leave a Comment Theme: Fast FoodPrice: less than US$10 » Currency ConverterComparison: less expensive than averageDirections: You Nose and eyes will take you there

Baglios is a chain of Italian ice cream shops around the country, generally found in shopping malls. They are a lovely treat to have but are quite expensive!
It has a wide variety of ice cream in delicious flavours! I usually enjoy a sweet and a non-sweet, so generally opt for coffee and chocolate scoops in a cup/home made sugar cone. If I am in a fruity mood I opt for one of the citrus fruity flavours. The atmosphere of this place was great - very fun and family orientated. The price is also very good, but then, so are most things in SA when you compare them to the British pound!
My favourite menu item had to be the 'hot rock' which is when you are given an uncooked steak on a hot plate and you have to cook it yourself. Leave a Comment Theme: OtherDirections: This amazing place can be found in the Eastgate shopping centre in Bedfordview, which is on the outskirts of Jo'burg.

There where a lot:At V&A Waterfront there was the Belgian restaurant'Den Anker' or 'Hildebrand'.(See picture) The best was at the winery estate 'Buitenverwachting'. At the road from Hazyview to Sabie (Mpumalanga)there was 'Scrumpi's Tom' and 'The Ant and the Elephant' For us,Belgian people, the prices are very cheap.Eating in SA is about 50% cheaper than in Belgium.
At 'Scrumpi's Tom' we ate a starter of smoked oistrich on a salad. At Camps Bay,in a portugees restaurant,(Vilamoura)I ate the best King's Prawn ever. It is difficult to make a choice, because all the food we had was extremely good.(I had overweight of 6 kilo's after my trip) Leave a Comment Theme: Other

If you do nothing else you have to try the local food and that means chomping into a Boerey Roll, rather like a hotdog but instead of the frankfurter you get a huge piece of Boerewors and boy is it yummy. There is a great stand outside of Makro, where you will see a stream of men standing traditionally around waiting or eating their rolls while the wives go off to spend inside of Makro Leave a Comment Theme: African

It is a small restaurant run by the owners (man and wife) and they serve great home made meals, with local ingredients and great home made wine.

Most people love kebabs... but to different people, a kebab means something different... In South Africa a kebab is pieces of meat on a stick (also called a 'sosati').... and in England, a kebab is what you find in the photo.. the mind boggles :) (a special thanks to my brother and his wife for demonstrating this so beautifully!) Leave a Comment Theme: Middle EasternPrice: less than US$10 » Currency ConverterComparison: least expensiveDirections: Kebabs are found all over South Africa, especially in supermarkets, where people take them home and cook them themselves.
