 | Cape Town Nightlife | Tips 1 - 10 of 91 | | Popular Nightlife | Other Nightlife Tips | All Tips (91) The Blue Peter lies all of 20 minutes from the Waterfront in Cape Town, following the coast road out west. Is sits at the foot of a tranquil little town, and has a beer garden that looks west, straight over Robben Island. I cannot claim that there was anything spectacular about the bar in terms of drinks, music or food. But the location and the general laid back atmosphere made it my favourite hanging-out-of-an-evening watering hole! They tell me thatm in season, it's a great whale-watching place... I'd loved to have seen a whale, but one evening gave me a sunset, the likes of which I've never experienced, and I doubt I'll ever experience again!
Come as you are!... it is Cape Town after all! Leave a Comment Theme: Eating and DrinkingAddress: In the village of BloubergDirections: Follow the sea round west from Cape Town for about 20 minutes, park the car at the foot of the village and enjoy!Website: http://www.bluepeter.co.za/BasicMain.html

The authentic African flavour of the Drum cafe creates the perfect atmosphere in which to experience a taste of Africa, not to merely witness, but to partake. The drum circle is a true reflection of how in traditional African settings, there is no longer an audience, each person gets their own djembe drum, and after a brief lesson on how to drum, beginners will, in no time be drumming fluently with our regular more advanced drummers. You will then become a part of the powerful rhythm of the drum circle. People from all walks of life, all cultures and all ages, up to 200 people drumming together, making music. Its great fun and a fantastic way to relieve stress.

Although Cape Town's CBD generally shut's down at night, Long Street is where it all happens. There are numerous clubs and pubs that remain open till the early hours of the morning.

Long Street is the place to be if you want to party in Capetown. It has different pubs, discos and places to eat something quick. Just walk around and go inside the place you find the best for you.
No coat required, but capetonians do like to dress to go out. A shirt and jeans it's ok. Don't even think of going out with shorts and tank tops. Either you won't meet anyone or you won't be able to go inside the pubs. Leave a Comment Theme: OtherAddress: Long Street

Cool Runnings is a very fine place to spend an evening listening to live music, although by preference I'd wait for nice, warm weather so that the band could set up in the "sandbox", the courtyard surrounded by ersatz palm trees, thatched roofs, and lots of room to dance, or just to stretch out with some rum-based drink. Inside is fine, too, although things get crowded quickly and the smoke level rises alarmingly. The drinks are good. The food is passable, sufficient to keep you from getting truly plastered (though I'd stay away from the fries, personally).

Every Monday evening from about 8.30pm you can head down the River Club and listen to live music. The barleycorn music club has been running for 20+ years as a non-profit organisation with the sole aim of appreciation of live music. The diversity is from solo guitar, accapella, rock, jazz to reggae & classical. There is a small door charge at the moment R20 and silence is asked for when the musicians are playing

Great place for young people to meet and have a few games of pool or just a drink. This pool hall has about 200 tables and a balcony when you need a breather. This pool hall is by no means a seedy joint one often associates with pool halls
