It is a superior first class, dramatic, 35 story hotel with mirrored facade and dazzling atrium lobby complete with waterfall, located adjacent to Grand Central Station at Park Avenue and Forty-Second Street

It's easy to arrive from the airport by New York Airport Service. The station is almost opposite the hotel at: Grand central - 125 Park Avenue - Between 41st. & 42nd Street.

But what it comes to rooms, there could be a bit more to expect after the splendour of the lobby!
Only recommended for it's excellent location and morning breakfast!!

When staying in New York, my first choice hotel would be the Grand Hyatt in midtown. I choose it because of it's convenient location (right next to Grand Central!), and how accessible it is to every major city sight! It's a grand hotel, indeed, and the rooms are always comfortable and the concierge service is always helpful.

The hotel was FANTASTIC. The hotel lobby was always busy but what do you expect from a Manhattan hotel. The rooms however were amazing. I have never felt so at home in a hotel. the rooms smelt, looked, and felt clean. The location can not be beaten ( I looked). Grand Central Station is adjoined which allows for quick access to trains, subways and reasonably priced food. We were there during the transit strike so we had to walk everywhere. Times Square, Rockefeller Center, Empire State Building, 5th Ave., and Central Park are within walking distance. The longest walk was Central Park and that was only about 20-25 minutes. You can not beat this hotel. The service was great, accomodations were clean, a everything was so convienent. Booh early. We booked a couple months in advance with AAA and we got a room for $143 an night during the busy season.

this was a perfect place to take my granddaughter .the elevators were speedy and the location next to Grand Central Station meant lots of shopping and quick places to eat that would please both of us and not break the bank.The Station itself should definately be on every tourists list of things to see and there is a free tour I believe on Wed.
Also,there is an excellent coffee shop across the street since the breakfast at the hotel's coffee shop is quite expensive for those of us not on an expense account.

helpful staff,lots of taxis,adequate room.

The Lobby at Christmas

The hotel was very nice. A bit pricey but worth it!

The most unique thing about the Hyatt is that it is connected to Grand Central Station which makes it very convenient to get anywhere you want without going out into the cold!

Upon checking in we got to our room, there was plaster that had fallen from the cieling all over the room.
After we got moved rooms finally got to sleep.
Maid started trying to come in to clean the room at 7:30 am !!
Then the next morning, security came to my room at 6 am saying they had a wake up call for me and couldnt get through on my phone ? ( i had scheduled no wake up calls) .
The hotel is very 80s looking and the rooms are very run down inside.
They do not even have hair dryers in the bathroom.
no high speed internet
Local calls cost 1.50 for 30 mins and 10 cents a minute after that

It does have a good location as it is next to Grand Central station but I would not stay here again.
Note, the front desk told us that in 2004 the hotel is going to undergo a 40 million dollar renovation. Its well past time believe me.

I impressed my parents with putting us all up in this huge hotel. It was their first visit to the US and I think they soon realised that everything is big there. Big and airy lobby, nice rooms, I thought the bathrooms were kinda small, nice breakfast buffet and nice staff.

Right by Central station and airport shuttles stop just around the corner so it's really easy to access!
