  • March 2004 and April 2005...I like that there's a casino in the hotel, but it's a basic affair.
    Also great that you can wait in the little music lounge near the door while waiting for your friends.
    It's not swank, but the staff is nice, it's affordable and it's a great location
    For the second stay we were in the same tower of rooms, but the room was BETTER and had a hair dryer included

    I'm very sorry to see that it will become a Hooter's property and probably won't stay there again

  • okay hotel, although in need of renovating or rebuilding, but for the price it was quite good and staff very helpful and friendly

    *** 2006 Update - the San Remo becomes the Hooters Casino Hotel ***

    I found the San Remo Hotel/Casino on Travelocity, for a (what I thought was a) modest $59 US/night.

    Beside the famous Tropicana Resort, and across the street from the MGM Grand, it's conveniently located as the closest large hotel to the airport, yet a 10-minute walk to the Las Vegas Strip.

    Not a name one would recognize, it doesn't attract stars or celebrities, but you can't get closer to the action without blowing your budget!

    Now the Hooters Casino Hotel, I wanna go back to Vegas!

    I would have thought they would have at least a coffee maker in each room however they did not and of course no coffee to wake up to. I felt the rooms were quite small and they did not have any internet capabilities though I was told that will be one of the upgrades planned for the future. I felt this was a detraction from my stay there and would probably choose another place for any future stays in the las vegas area.

    The hotel is clean and has quite a few gaming tables and a variety of slot machines. It also has a musical show in the evenings. The hotel is next to the Tropicana hotel so is close to everything. It does have a nice pool and the food in the restaurants are good.
