The Rio is definitely the coolest casino catering to Las Vegas locals. Every room has one wall that is entirely made of glass overlooking the city. Be sure to go to the Voo Doo lounge on the roof to see a unique view of the strip. If you go before 9:00 pm you won't have to pay the cover charge.

Nice, large rooms. Great pool. Fun casino (don't miss the Masquerade show in the sky). The last time I went they still had the 'Treasures of Russia' exhibit. Very nice.
This hotel is always hopping, so if you're looking for a quiet place to gamble, look elsewhere. Somewhat pricey for an off strip property, but you can usually get deals.

My personal favorite is The Rio Hotel and Casino. It's A luxury hotes with nothing but sweets. The standard room is like A small luxury apartment and prices begin at about $160.00 per night. If you got the cash it's definetly worth it. It's A pretty classy hotel with wonderful restaurants and nightly clubs and entertainment. By the way, if you like to play live poker, although the Rio doesn't have live games, The Orleans Casino is only A five (5) minute cab ride away. It is one of the worlds best poker rooms according to Poker digest.

The Rio has excellent pools, and the rooms have breathtaking views.

Directions: The Rio is located 1/2 mile W.from center strip at 3700 W. Flamingo Rd. It's only A 10 minute cab ride from Mccaran Airport. It'll cost you about 10 bucks including tip.

The Rio is a really great location. It's an ALL SUITE hotel. Prices are usually very reasonable (unless there's a big event in town).

All Suite Hotel, the B E S T buffet in town.

Directions: Just off the strip on Flamingo, but they have a shuttle van that runs down to the strip all the time.

The Rio hotel, just off the strip, gives you plenty of luxury, without spending a fortune. All rooms are suites with double beds being classed as single's. Excellent service, excellent food and a great cocktail bar !!

This hotel has a lovely pool, with an unusual feature of water sprays dotted around the pool area, that constantly sprays a fine mist into the air, keeping you cool in the heat of Las Vegas.

I stayed at the Rio with a friend in 2004 (or was it 2003?). They call it a suite, but it's really just a large room with a wall separating the sleeping and dressing area. The bathroom was nice, and the dressing area with sinks and mirrors outside the bathroom was perfect for primping!

This was the only time I've stayed off the strip, and it was only a minor inconvenience. They had a regular shuttle to Harrah's, which is a sister property, and it's right across the street from The Palms.

The Rio also has a nice Wine Bar.

I stayed at Rio in mid-May 2004, while in Las Vegas on business. Rio is off of the Strip, so shuttle/taxi fare is a little more than to the hotels on the strip. Check in was a breeze.

The hotel rooms were large, but I don't think I would quite call them suites--as is advertised. The room had two queen sized beds, a decent sized couch, large tv, etc.. One quirk was that the shower had a window that looked directly into the living area.

I was expecting much more of a "Rio" or "Brazilian" atmosphere to the place. There was none other than the names of some of the restaurants.

Lots and lots of slots from 2 cents on up. Few low dollar table games. Lots of dining options...none of which were South American if I remember correctly.

Because Rio is not on the Strip, I probably would not stay here again...except if there was some great deal.

Nice pool area.

Rio all suites hotel

The Rio is a lcolorful latin themed all suite hotel located just off the Strip on Flamingo Road. I didn't stay here as The Palms had a better rate, but I've heard and read that the suites are pretty spacious by Las Vegas standards.

At night, the Rion is a pretty ostentacious display of bright lights and Las Vegas neon. It has a collection of bars and clubs, as well as a pretty good buffet.

The Rio All-Suite Casino

During a night tour through the city of Las Vegas we visited The Rio. It's situated just outside The Strip . At that moment we didn't know it was voted "Best hotel value in the world" and "Best overall hotel in Las Vegas".

To be honest, our interest didn't go out to these prizes won by the hotel. What we liked was the fact that the all glass walls of the building afforded us beautiful views of The Strip. Especially at night it's great to see all the neon lights and the shows played at The Strip.
