| | | | |
The room at the Mirage was pretty big, which was nice because 3 girls shared it. It had 2 queen beds, the standard TV/drawer/mini bar contraption, a desk and a chair. The bathroom wasn't so big, and the low-flow toilet hardly ever got the TP down on the first flush : (. The bathroom didn't have a separate sink & mirror area like at some hotels, but there was a small dressing table with a mirror and a lighted makeup mirror just outside the bathroom. The only downfall may have been the lighting - it was so dim you couldn't tell if you had on too much blush : ) But I guess since anything goes in Vegas, it didn't really matter.
The Mirage is known for the White Tigers and the Dolphin exhibit and the Volcano, none of which I saw on this trip. I did go to the gym and spa. The gym is inside the Spa. $20/day to use the facilities, but it's included for free on the day you purchase a spa service (like a massage). It's not very big, but does have a nice selection of equipment, with individual TV screens on the cardio machines. I had a very nice massage in the spa, and they provide Aveda products in the showers / dressing area. Wasn't a big fan of the "snacks" at the Mirage. The Coffee shop had some of the most bitter espresso I've ever had, and the ice cream was kind of bland. Didn't eat at any of their full-service restaurants. The pool is VERY crowded. It opens at 8 and people rush down there with towels, etc. to save chairs. It is pretty cool though - has a couple waterfalls and little waterslides. Oh, and beware, a large bottle of water ordered from the poolside servers is $7. Leave a Comment

The Mirage, orginally built and designed by Steve Wynn, is the one that set standard for hotel resorts in Las Vegas. Located acorss from the Venetian near the center of the strip, this place has something for everyone, the inner jungle design, the Sigfried and Roy White Tiger habitat, the Volcano activity outside, all of this and a fabulous casino to boot! the rooms are not asd outrageously priced as you would think, either.
Some call it cheesy, but I actually liked the volcano... and the Tigers were a nice touch, though they hardly ever came out of their little hiding spots. The Danny Gans show I have heard is one of the best, if not the best, in Vegas. Leave a Comment
