  • There are two areas to stay, the tower or the pyramid. We stayed in the Pyramid...typical hotel. Mixed clientle as the Luxor isn't as "trendy" as the Palms or The Hard Rock, but at least it's located on the strip.

    As with most hotels in Vegas, only hotel guests can lounge by the pool. Towels and chairs are provided and floats can be rented. There are three (I think) pools all connected. My friend and I used the spa facilites one day and WOW! They were GREAT! Of course I can only talk about the women's side and we did not use the gym. There are about 6 or 7 showers and each has a different "scent" of body wash and shampoo/conditioner. The mint shower was the most popular.

  • I found the luxor to be clean, freindly and loud at night. The rooms as all american room were huge. I stayed in one of the rooms in the actual pyramid which are reached by an inclinator (an elevator that goes up[ at an angle). The downside being near the large atrium was that sound from the casion carried at night. The food was adequate nothing outstanding but thats the same in all the hotels we tried. It is at the opposite end of the strip to the stratosphere and is linked interally to the alladin and then New York, New York.

    This hotel amazes you, it unusual shape makes it stand out from the other hotels. (and thats a tough thing do do in Vegas)

    As soon a s you walk through tthe doors the "Wow Factor" hits you smack between the eyes, the size and arcitecture is so unusual.

    One we'd checked in we made our way to the inclinator, instead of elevators/lifts the Luxor has these inclinators that follow the line of the Pyramid and its a stange feeling moving sideways as well as up.

    Excellent Hotel in the shape of a pyramid with all the rooms and Casino's inside. This place is massive and really spectacular.

    We stayed here in july 2007 and found it very nice. When we arrived we opted to stay for an extra couple of days and ended up getting an excellent deal. It was for an extra two nights for two rooms it cost another 180 dollars which we thought was brilliant. The hotel has unique elevators as the go up diagonally due to the pyramid shape and this is weird to start with but you soon get used to it. The rooms are pretty big but staying in the pyramid you lose a part of the room due to the slope of the wall.

    I found the casino quite confusing at times to get about and frequently walked round in circles before I got back to my room but that was probably my stupidity or excessive amounts of alcohol lol. Overall it's a good hotel but nottop class but I never expected that from a vegas hotel.

    The egyption them is carried out perfectly throughout the hotel and they pay a lot of attention to detail.

    We had a lovely stay in the Luxor - like all the hotels in Vegas its fabulous.
    With 4,408 rooms and suites, Luxor Resort & Casino is the second largest hotel in the United States. The Egyptian-themed resort has been ranked as one of the top 50 resorts in the United States by Gourmet Magazine.
    Luxor is home to the relaxing Oasis Spa, nine exceptional restaurants and cafes, the Tony Award winning musical Hairspray, the hip nightclub RA, the adventurous Pharaoh's Pavilion and more than 120,000 square feet of exciting gaming action. Luxor Resort & Casino is owned and operated by MGM Mirage.

    Watch out fo the 'inclinators' especially if you've had a few drinks.
    This was by far the biggest hotel we have ever and probably will ever stay in.
    It was great though - even when we did manage to get lost constantly - takes a lot of getting used to as everything looks the same, but think that is the Las Vegas trickery to get you to stay where you are. All the hotels were great but we were glad we stayed here.

    We stayed here on our second trip.....for 4 days.......We had a ball...

    the Luxor is BIG...from what i've read it is the second largest hotel in the world....although that's mainly because of the two huge towers that house most of the rooms...the main pyramid although immense doesn't seem as big as most of the other theme hotels on the strip...but it's big all the same....

    We stayed in the pyramid...on the 26th floor I think....that's an amazing sight in itself....the whole pyramid is hollow and the rooms are accessed by balcony/corridors that seem to hang from the inside of the walls...you can look down to the main amusement floor....a long way down....

    Nice atmosphere...very new...clean....BIG

    Good eateries...although we liked to catch the monorail to the Mandalay Bay to eat at our favourite buffet.....

    Blue Man Group was the main show there...we didn't see it but my brother had seen them in New York and said they were amazing...We saw the adult show instead...we were impressed.....adult but still tasteful i guess you could describe it.....

    The location is good.....at first you seem a bit cut off from the rest of the strip...but after discovering the monorail that connects Mandalay Bay, Luxor and the Alladin it becomes easy to get around....from the Alladin you can start your walk along the main strip.....

    Definitely one of the nicest mid-range priced places we've stayed at. The staff was quite friendly. The rooms have beautiful furniture. Watch out for vertigo when staying in the pyramid! You can find decent gambling here - some $5 tables for BJ and Pai Gow. Tipping $1 per drink keeps 'em coming!

    The interior is cool - stays with the theme very well. Easy access to both the Excalibur and Mandalay Bay.

    Prices have gone down here in the last few years. It is a great bargain.

    Didn't use the pool (went during winter). Riding the inclinator up to the room does feel a little strange.
