Flamingo Las Vegas: We stayed at the Flamingo,...    Check Rates
  • Tip Rating:
  • We stayed at the Flamingo, just across the 'Strip' from Ceasars Palace. This is a big place that seemed to be pretty full while we were there in early May.
starting at $79 per night, $49 rooms also available. Don't let the prices fool you though. We had a beautiful room overlooking the 'bird sancturary' and pool area.

They have a small 'bird sancturary' on premises. There's penguins and ducks, something that acts like a chicken but is very colorful, something else that looks almost like a pheasant, and of course FLAMINGOS. There are also albino catfish and koi in the pools around this area.

  • I usually stay at the Flamingo Hilton or the Stratosphere. The latter's rooms are better but it is too far away from the action in the centre of the strip. The photo on the left was taken from my hotel room and shows Bellagio, the world's most expensive hotel to be built. The fountain show on the lake is wonderful to say the least.

  • When I stayed here several years ag this property was owned by Hilton. With the expansion of Hilton's Vacation Club, however, I think the original part of this hotel is now owned by Harrah's.

It's one of the older hotels, but they have decent rooms and a good location. These penguins are in the center, outdoor section of the hotel.

  • In 2000, we stayed in the Flamingo Hilton hotel. We booked the hotel on-line -- rate was $39 US a night! Not bad at all!
Prices range from $50 to $120. But we lucked out and booked the hotel online (through the hotel's website) at $39 a night!

  • The Flamingo Hilton is on the famous Las Vegas strip across from Ceaser's. The Flamingo Hilton's greatest feature is a fantastic pool. Actually, there are multiple pools, some with slides and water falls and some for relaxing. The beautiful pool area also has hot tubs to relax in. My kids loved staying here because of the pool.

  • We stayed at the Flamingo Hilton. It is pretty big. Biggest shock was the mirror above the bed - it wasn't like we asked for it or anything!!

  • This is dead center of the strip. The hotel is great for everyone...from adults to kids...yes I said kids. The pool area while crowded is safe! No don't think you can leave the kids..but they can wander throughout the pool area without constant supervision. Contrary to other posters you can find a chaise or two together most of the time. You just have to look. The slide area is fun for all ages and not at all dangerous. As for the hotel itself....We stayed comped for 5 days in a GO Room...alas did not have the view of the strip but who cares the view of the mountains on the other side was very relaxing. The GO Room is great for kids in their teens...aka. they can sleep late while you play as the hotel itself is very safe and confined. The casino is lots of fun and there are tables and slots for every pocketbook. I did win a substantial amount on penny slots...yes i said penny slots but the max coin in is like $5 but I am glad I had that amount in when I hit. If you are looking for $5 tables go next door to either O'shea's or Bills Gamblin Hall where there is fun all night long. The restaurants are fine...nothing special...just good...if you are looking for fast food....Burger King is next door at O'Sheas...think cheap kids comfort food.
I would not stay anywhere else...that is a big statement because Vegas is well.....Vegas...but the Flamingo is comfortable...not expensive and fun..what more could you ask for.....????

Flamingo Las Vegas: Great place to stay in Vegas    Check Rates
  • Satisfaction:
  • The Flamingo turned out to be a great place to stay. I got a great rate through one of their specials and was pleasantly surprised to see that the room was very nice. The hotel itself is right in the middle of the best part of the strip. The place is bustling 24 hours a day, so this won't be the place for you if you like quiet and subdued. Check in was easy and quick, and so was check out. The casino itself was a good size, and their Connection card can be used at a bunch of other casinos. Pool area was really nice.

On the downside, the safe in the room was very expensive, and so was making calls from the room. I got around this by using my cell phone only. The Italian restaurant in the hotel is not worth the money at all. The buffet was very good though.

Great location, great pool, nice casino

  • Very lively casino and nice bar right at entrance to casino.
Excellent location to walk to Caesar's, Bellagio, Mirage, Treasure Island and Venetian

    Restaurant options/style level is limited

Room was very comfortable and quiet, with view of Bellagio fountains

Luckily I'd read that rooms on one side face the Bellagio fountains and asked for a room change--what a show

    Easy connection to use monorail

Flamingo Las Vegas: An Old Classic    Check Rates

  • The Flamingo is one of the oldest hotels on the strip, but its location is to die for. Right smack dab in the heart, across from Caesers Palace. The rooms and casino are a little worn down and old fashioned, but the ammenities and staff are excellent. It is a great value if booked well in advance and the pool is amazing. Does not have a shopping area, and the concierge is very helpful.

The Pool is one you have to visit, has a water slide for the kids, and a drinks area for the adults, with a waterfall, and a mini zoo, with penguins, exotic birds, and you guessed it, flamingos!
