| | | | |
This hotel is showing it's age, and should be put on the list to either be torn down or overhauled! While the staff is very friendly, many common services are lacking. The bell hop who delivered our bags, did just that and nothing more! When I asked about ice, he told me to walk down the hall. Housekeeping, is pretty weak too. Carpet was 'kind of' vacuumed, and the bathroom floor was 'kind of' swept. We noticed an error with our check out date after we had checked in, so the next morning I went to the front desk to correct the error, IT WAS CLOSED! I've never heard of a hotel closing its check-in desk for the morning hours. My mother had a medical emergency, when I called the desk for the 'house doctor'.. they don't have one. However they did call for an ambulance, good thing since all they could offer was a security officer. (Who was friendly but, didn't appear to even have basic medical training.) Items that I thought a hotel would have... a bath tub, coffee pot, and mini bar in the room. Also the water glasses are the cheapest thin plastic glasses I've ever seen. Brochures of things to do, while in the area. To say the least I've stayed at Motel 6s that offered more than this place! Lighting in the hallways and rooms is very poor. It gives you the feeling of being in a dungeon, which is o.k. if you have good vision. Would NOT recommend this hotel for anyone who is low vision. Building maintenance personal appear to be missing! Elevator button on floor was broken all week, and other noticeable items needed repairing. They also have a mandatory charge of a dollar a day for the phone (if you us it or not) and internet access is $11.00 for 24 hours. Bottom line, if you don't mind $3.00 a cup for coffee, and don't want a tub to soak in, don't mind a bit of dirt, can handle the other little quarks it isn't too bad for the mid week rate of $54. a night. However is not worth the $100+ they charge for the week-ends!
Good location, is on the 'Strip Trolly' route. The staff was frendly, but not always helpful. Leave a Comment Theme: HotelPrice: US$80-120 » Currency ConverterComparison: less expensive than averageDirections: Almost at the end of the strip

I don't know. While wandering The Strip, I stopped in on Excalibur. I didn't make it too far because everything inside looked to be pretty old and rather "grubby". I would have been disappointed upon arriving there if I knew that I was staying there for the night.
The interior is in need of a facelift or a major cleaning. Leave a Comment Theme: HotelDirections: Next to Luxor, across from MGM Grand

I was please with that hotel because first it was not expensive at all. It's well located as well because your'e close from the NY-NY and MGM. It's maybe not the most luxury or elegant but do the job.

We stayed at the Excalibur Hotel and Casino which was an excellent choice. We got a deal here for $35 a night, and they also gave us discount coupons to stuff at Excalibur such as the Tournament of Kings, Fantasy Faire Midway, Merlin's Magic Motion Machine Film Ride, as well as spas and salon, etc.
The hotel itself has a lot of convenient places to shop and dine. There is a McDonald's, a Pizza Hut, Chinese fast food, Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, and ice cream shop. There are also several nice restaurants as well as a buffet place, the Roundtable Buffet. When entering the medieval-themed Excalibur, you'd almost expect to find yourself in the middle of a jousting match. In true over-the-top Vegas form, the hotel is in the form of a castle and it has a moat surrounding it. Suits of armor stand as sentries at the entrance and a dragon battle takes place in the moat every evening when a fire breathing dragon battles Merlin the magician. I won't tell you who wins as that would spoil the surprise. The Excalibur is a family-themed hotel, and a generally reasonably priced one at that. The hotel has a prime rib restaurant. For those who find wizards, knights and dragons romantic, medieval-themed weddings are also performed here. Leave a Comment

 | | | | Excalibur Hotel Casino: Best place to stay on the strip
| | | | |
This place is the only place I stay when coming to Las Vegas. Their rates are affordable and usually include free dining coupons and discount tickets. The location of the Excalibur is centric to most of the major hotels on the strip and a short walk to the monorail which will take you to the other end of the strip in a short time. Navigating the hotel and trying to remember how to get to your tower can be confusing, but once you master the landmarks you will have no problem. The rooms are spacious and always clean and have pleasant decorating. The views can be nice or plainly awful, you will most likely want to stay in tower 2. The pool is shallow and is fun for kids, but not so much for adults. The buffet is not that great, but they usually have coupons for buy one get one free so its not a bad buy for breakfast. This resort has a arcade which is great for kids and is located on the lower level near the main entrance. Your best bet for late night dining is the Sherwood forest cafe, with very basic food. A walk to the second floor will yield a few shops and a walkway to the Luxor, and might I say it is kind of a long walk, but there are usally working flat escalators. Overall, I love the Excalibur. It is family friendly, fun, cheap and a great location to the strip and airport.
