Tip Rating: Satisfaction: | | | | |
This week, I had a short trip to San Francisco, so I chose to try out the W Hotel San Fran. I was not very impressed with the hotel, however my expectations were high based on W's normal service level. My room was not ready upon my noon arrival time, which was not a good start. Secondly, I parked my car there... which was $45 dollars a night!!!! Then... at 45 dollars a night parking fee, the valet noticed my tire pressure was low when he parked the car... but did he bother to call my room and tell me? NO... he just wrote it on the ticket, so at 8am the next morning when I had to get to an important business meeting... I had a flat tire to deal with!! Overall, the room is very nice, and the service from the check-in staff was excellent... but beware of the valet! Leave a Comment

 | | | | W Hotel San Francisco: MODERN
Tip Rating: Satisfaction: | | | | |
Set in the heart of downtown San Francisco's "South of Market," W San Francisco stands out with the offbeat, yet sophisticated spirit of the city it calls home. Literally stands out. On the Third Street Frieze of W San Francisco, towering 46 feet above street level, is a fantastic reclining figure made of irregularly sheared bronze strips woven together. Conceived by a local artist to complement to the neo-classical design of W San Francisco, the figure (with one arm draped casually over the edge of the podium) also reflects W's whimsical reinvention of public and private space. Experience it for yourself.
Located at Third Street and Howard, W San Francisco is adjacent to the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and directly across from the Moscone Center. In an important part of the new development area called "Yerba Buena Gardens," we are five blocks from Union Square and just steps from an eclectic array of boutiques, theaters and galleries. The Metreon, a new high-tech Sony entertainment center that includes a multi-screen theater, is just one block away. Leave a Comment
