Slowly the Marriott converts to an old Lady...and she would need some Botox shoots.
I stay there regularly since the early 90th's, and not to much changed.
There are no major complaints, just little glitches.

If you have to do business on Market street, or at Moscone, then the location is convenient.

Make sure to enjoy the spectacular view from the bar on the 39th floor.

This is a good location if you need to be near Moscone Ctr or South of Market - otherwise it is a long way from SF night life and a rather long walk from Union Square (but do-able). And from Union Sqr. you can catch a street car to Fishermans Warf, via North Beach, where you can stop for great food along the way. You will probably end up cabbing it everywhere after dark anyway - but it all comes down to location and what you are in SF to do (business or be a tourist.)

The rooms are typical Marriott - clean and well appointed.

This hotel offers some very large rooms and has one of the best hotel gyms I've ever been to. The jazz club on the top is great as well with some cool city views. It might be too far from the bay for some tourists but for business, especially if you are at a trade show, the location is great. It also has a few good bars right outside of it, so that's a plus too.

This hotel gave birth to simply one of the most beautiful architectural designs in the city inside and out. Located in the heart of downtown this hotel includes a rooftop lounge, a 40,000 sq foot ball room, a prime location, an indoor pool, health club, and alot more.

Stayed at the downtown Marriott on the 31st floor. Had a corner room that overlooked downtown and the east Bay.

Wonderful view from the lounge located on the upper level; however, seating is limited. The Garden Terrace restaurant, located on the 2nd floor, has wonderful food and a diverse menu.

Directions: Located at 4th Street and Market - only steps away from Union Square, the trolley station, a few blocks from Chinatown, and nearby many of the South Market (SOMA) nightclubs.

San Francisco Marriott from
the Convention Center

A very nice hotel. Huge number of rooms and yet it didn't feel overwhelmingly big. The lobby got pretty crowded around 5pm as people gathered to plan their evenings.

Rooms were very nice with goose down duvets, many pillows and a flat screen plasma HDTV (whatever that means). I was only on the 5th floor so my view was the side of the church next door.

The View, the hotel's lounge on the 34th floor, is well worth a visit for the views. The architecture reminded me of Gotham City with large gothic windows.

Never ate a meal in the hotel (too many choices nearby) but I heard breakfast was very expensive.
