 | Barcelona Gothic Point Youth Hostel Reviews | Tips 1 - 9 of 9 | | Very cheap accomodation! I ended up staying here because none of my friends were sure if they wanted to go with me to Barcelona and if I got myself an apartment or a hotel, it would be too boring if I stayed in it by myself . It turns out that one my friends decide to go. He decided to go and try out staying in a hostel as it was his first time to do it.
Good location, clean, friendly and helpfull staff and did I mention cheap.....Take some earplugs though as the wooden floor and bunk beds squeak at every movement. Stayed here for 4 nights in Sept 2005 and cannot recommend it more - excellent budget place that is clean, friendly, centrally-located, and has got nice breakfast, free internet and lockers. Though one shortcoming is the communal area - nothing really special - a couch and a tv-set and a couple of bookselves - doesn't really encourage social interaction and isn't very welcoming but if you're not planning to stay in hostel and mostly be out doing the sightseeing or other stuff, that shouldn't be an issue
The most intriguing thing before I arrived was whether I'll get a bed in those kind of famous dorms that have curtains for each bed and I did in fact get such a place! It turned out to be fantastic - very cosy and you get all the privacy you need - just pull the curtain and you get your own space with a bed, a bedside table, a light and a socket - what more could you want? This is a nice friendly, clean and well equipt hostel. It is located on a pleasant little street about a 4 minute walk away from La Rambla. The dorms are quiet large (approx 20 people) but tend to be quiet enough to sleep in.
There is a dining area, 24 hour reception, internet, lockers, showers and each dorm bed has a curtain so you can have a little extra privacy. Leave a Comment

I enjoyed staying at Gothic Point. It has breakfast included and the rooms were fairly big. Out of the three hostels this was my least favorite because it was bigger and less private but it was close to all the major sites in Barcelona. I would stay here again but I would choose the other two over this one.
Great Service and Help from staff. Really good location. Leave a Comment

When I got off the train in from Granada, some guy came up to me with a flyer for the Gothic Point Barcelona Hostel. I asked him where it was, and I went. They had dorm rooms in a really cool warehouse, everything was lofted and very comfortable. B-fast was included and so was the internet. The rooms are big, and you have some sort of your own privacy where you sleep. It's comfortable enough. Breakfast and internet is included.
You can meet people from all around the world. There is good information material about the city, events, activities etc. And it's down town, so you are next to some sightseeing points. Leave a Comment

We found Gothic Point on the internet and didn't prebook. We just showed up after we got off the train. The location was great right in the middle of the Barri Gotic and beside a metro stop. the place was really full of young people just doing a lot of drinking and sitting around. We didn't really meet anyone in the hostel. The internet room was a little bit of a drag cuz it was so hot up there and there were only 3 computers. The dorms were a little spooky, dark and smelly but ech 2 beds had there own kind of private room divider with a curtain so that's cool. overall it was a great hostel with lots of great info and pub crawls.
