As a deluxe hotel all the services work perfectly, the personnel is super efficient, but the best thing is the localization, in the center of the departament stores near the pratunam market (15 minutes walking), at night in the surroundings of the hotel is a very lively street market. The hotels that are near the river at night the surroundings are dead and holes. There is a station of sky train in the same door of the hotel, you can cross the city in 15 minutes with this train. The luxury of the hotel is elegant it is not of the type of Las Vegas (new rich). The breakfasts are incredible, to request a room in a high plant, the views are magnify. The area is denominated Erawan
The rooms are roomy with 45 square meters and all kinds of services, fruits, newspapers, sweet at nights, bathrobe, slippers, safe-deposit box, etc. The pool is in the high floor with a bar inside , a service of transport in limousine to the airport 1800bth until 7 people, service internet high speed, large work desk, elegant classic decoration, twice bed service at day., free mineral water (the water is safe). | | | | InterContinental Bangkok: Two thumbs up! Way up!

This is one excellent hotel that deserves a perfect 10. The atmosphere is very classy yet warm and inviting. The lobby is huge and opulent in split-level partitions - with the Balcony Lounge occupying the space beside the front desk and the deli on the lower ground floor providing an alternative entrance/exit to the hotel on top of the main access coming from the large courtyard it shares with Holiday Inn Bangkok. The personnel are superbly-trained in hospitality service and have adequate-to-fluent command of the English language.
The rooms are spacious - measuring 45 sq.m. with lots of space to move around. Everything is provided for - complete set of toiletries (Audley's from London), slippers, bathrobes, tv and dvd player, mineral water, coffee/tea-making facilities, a daily supply of a big bowl of fruits plus assorted chocolates and pretzels. Daily morning paper is complimentary from M-S and even includes an additional International Daily Tribune from M-F. Nightly turndown service is also standard among all guests. The hotel has a luxurious spa, 24-hour fitness center, nicely-sized pool plus the Club Lounge on the top floors. To top it all, the location is just super! It is right beside Gaysorn Plaza, across Amarin Shopping and Erawan Arcade, with Central Chitlom a mere 3-minute walk to the left, and the Big C plus Central World Plaza (presently undergoing major renovation) right around the corner in just 5 minutes. The skytrain escalator is right outside the lobby and the skywalk going to Siam Central Terminal is a definite plus. All told, I cannot fault the Intercontinental Bangkok for anything amiss during my stay because each day met - and often exceeded - my expectations. The high price was all worth it. | | | | InterContinental Bangkok: An oasis of modern luxury in the urban jungle...

I was extremely content with my stay in InterContinental Bangkok. The staff were EXTREMELY friendly and helpful, even in the most special requests (I needed to get baloons for a birthday, for instance). The concierge would be happy to organise anything for you. The quality of the breakfast brunch as well as the restauration in the hotel in general is simply OUTSTANDING!!! The prices, by European levels are maybe even a little below average! The rooms are very spacious, good (but expensive) internet connection, stylish and comfortable bathrooms. I had no problems during my 8 day stay that weren't instantly fixed by the hotel staff.
The fitness centre and the pool are outstanding! The 37th floor rooftop swimming pool, even though somewhat small, offers a quiet, sunny location away from the chaos down below. The bar makes decent cocktails and the view improves the situation even further! My mother claims that the local SPA/Beauty centre in the hotel, even though expensive, is absolutely outstanding. She knows what she's talking about. Leave a Comment
