Tip Rating: Satisfaction: | | | | |
This is a great place to stay if you want somewhere that really is somewhere to sleep and is central. Sure its older, but I have found it clean, very friendly and courteous staff, good restaurants/bars, a very good Thai Cultural night experiance, and the location is great. Its also well within walking distance of Pantzip Plaza, the air-rail system (I forget its name, sorry) and other hotels to link up with fellow travelers/friends.the shopping area that is in the same buiilding housaes a postoffice, department store etc as well as many tailors and other stalls, even a food hall of sorts. I do recomend it, after all, do we go on holiday to sit in a hotel room and drool/admire it? I think not, or at least I don't.
Central, Cultural show, Pool, wonferful massage service (I do recomend this) and reasonably priced

 | | | | Indra Regent Hotel: back to the 70s
Tip Rating: Satisfaction: | | | | |
The hotel definitely had seen better days. The facade of the building was very old and dirty. The lobby was nice and modern though with high ceilings and a grand staircase leading up to the mezzanine floor. Stepping out of the elevator and into the guest room's hallway, you'd think you'd boarded a time machine, for the decor was decidedly very 70s. It smelled too. The guest room was, again, smelled stuffy. The bed was hard, the tv had no remote, the glasses looked as if it hadn't been changed since the 70s that I dared not used it, the window looked badly in need of a wash, oh I could go on and on, thank God the towels were whites, fresh, and clean. Breakfasts were served on the nice and airy garden terrace. There were many choices but the taste was nothing to write home about. The friendliness of the staff was the only salvaging qualities of this hotel IMHO. I have to agree with one VT member that the hotel is in need of an upgrade badly. As far as location goes, this hotel sits smack in the heart of Pratunam with its wholesale market that was always crowded day and night. If you're looking for just a place to crash in at night and take showers, then I'd certainly recommend this hotel for its great location. But if you're looking for a modern hotel, with first class facilities then I'd advise you to steer clear of this one.
- located in the heart of Pratunam market, a haven for shoppers and bargain hunters - the rooms on upper floors have great views of Bangkok and the Pratunam market. Leave a Comment
