 | Seoul Jw Marriott Seoul Reviews | 1 - 5 of 5 | | | | | | Jw Marriott Seoul: One of the best accomodation
Tip Rating: Satisfaction: | | | | |
We paid quite a lot for our 5-night-stay at JW Marriott, but I must say it was worth. The JW Marriott Seoul is a luxury hotel ideally located within Korea's most comprehensive multi-purpose complex in Gangnam. The hotel location is excellent, also because it is directly linked to subway lines 3 and 7, through a refined shopping centre. The hotel is said to have the largest guest rooms in Seoul, I shared the room with my parents and I must admit it was enough big for everybody. The hotel jewel is its extraordinary Marquis health club, with a huge swimming pool, whirpool, sauna, and a huge gym. If you decide to visit the health club, you are given a Marriott Marquis training suit of your size (light pink for ladies and dark blue for men)... which is fun! The hotel offers a wide choice of restaurants: from contemporary grill cuisine at JW's Grill, Mikado Japanese and Man Ho Chinese restaurants, the Marriott Cafe, The Exchange Bar, the Lobby Lounge, and the Deli Shop. My favourite dining spot was the Italian restaurant Olivo where classic Italian cuisine is presented in an uptown cosmopolitan environment.
The hotel has so many unique qualities and only one negative spot, which is the price. Unique qualities include: * room size and decoration; * health club; * staff; * location; * wide choice of restaurants and bars Theme: HotelPrice: US$180 and up » Currency ConverterComparison: most expensivePhone: 011-82-2-62826262

 | | | | Jw Marriott Seoul: A Fine Hotel
| | | | |
I stayed at the JW Marriott in Seoul (Banpo) and found the accomodations pretty good. If you have read some of my other hotel reviews, you'll notice that unless a hotel stands out for being really really good...or really really bad, they are all pretty much the same. The service and staff were all professional and the hotel was quiet, clean, and safe.
The one thing I usually critique is the location and things available to do in the immediate area. In this case, it was pretty interesting. The hotel sits atop the central express bus station and is adjacent to the subway. It also abuts "Central City" a mall complex that has Shinsegue (an upscale department store) and some other upper end stores. As you work your way through the underground, you will find staples of the bus station (McDonald's, KFC, numerous coffee and lunch restaurants), and higher end stores (Shinsegue), a movie theater. Move toward the subway and you will meander through numerous mom and pop shops selling everything from clothes, to kitchen gadgets to flowers. I liked the fact that you saw the high end and the low end side of commerce all within a few city blocks. The hotel is also a five to ten minute cab drive to Itaewon.
