 | Sorak-sanmaek Reviews | Tips 1 - 10 of 13 | | Korean Resorts are typically geared for domestic travel and are family oriented hence you can see in the pictures that the rooms are very large and every room has a kitchen! so that you can cook your food. at the cabinets, there are matresses and extra pillows hence for a price of $220 for a simple room, and $400 for a bigger room. this will be cheap since up to 8 people can sleep here. (hence 8 people can divide the price!) but unfortunately, just 2 of us divided the price hence it was expensive.

Room is for family stay. So, it's very large. There are kithchen tools, too.

Prices are available at the website.
This is a very convenient hotel as it is the only one that is located within the national park itself. The service is good and the rooms are cosy. What I like about this hotel is that each room has a superb view of the mountains. You can even relax at you room's balcony and enjoy the scenery while having some food and drinks (good way to enjoy life). I stayed at Sokcho-si and used it as a base to explore Mt Sorak. While it's cheap, it would have been a nicer experience to stay in Osaek as the air there was so fresh! There are many motels there. For 5 star accomodations, you could try greenyard hotel. Leave a Comment

This Condominium is 11 stories high with a market on the ground level that provides most everything one would need to enjoy the kitchen and lounging areas in each room. This condo is one of the first built so it shows a little wear and tear. Old school Korean bathrooms, and kitchen reflect a contrast to modern Seoul's amenities.
great location, convenient store on the ground level and very affordable.

The hostel is basic but provides a good base in which to trek in the National Park. It is walking distance to the park ticket office, and the walk can be quicker than the car over the 2km stretch when the queues are bad. The hostel is also only a 15min bus ride (700 Korean Won) from Sokcho city, with a bus leaving approx. every 10 to 15 mins between 05:30 to 21:30. A single room for members cost 20,000 Won
Location is good. They were very helpful, like all of the Korean information offices.

As mentioned , there's lots of motels at Osaek. Leave a Comment Theme: MotelDirections: Take a bus from Sokcho Express Bus Terminal. Unfortunately, all signs on the buses here are written in hangul...

Sheters are available (for W3,000 - a great deal) on the mountains, but be prepared! The shelters are bare-bones - little more than heated floors, smelly latrines, access to drinking water, and, maybe, an overpriced store selling hot noodles and coffee. Problem is, there aren't nearly enough shelters to go around. Some can be reserved via the internet, but you'd best try to make your arrangements well in advance. If the rooms are booked, you can take your chances and try to get a first-come-first-served room, but if it's a busy time (a long weekend, for example) you're not likely to get a private room (read my travelogue to find out just what happens when there's no room at the inn!). Bring WARM clothes and a sleeping bag. Leave a Comment Theme: OtherPrice: less than US$20 » Currency ConverterComparison: least expensiveAddress: on top of the world!
