I really enjoyed staying at this hotel, i booked it at Thomson before i started working there & had heard lots of good reports about it. It has a fabulous beachfront location & is in the centre of Naama Bay, where all the action is, restaurants, clubs, bars, shops, watersports etc you name it you can never get bored here. Theres always something to do & many places to see. We got a warm welcome at this hotel, all the staff we very friendly & we got to know the Shisha man at this hotel, there is a gorgeous open rooftop where you can smoke Shisha & watch the sunset over Sharm with a ice cold beer.
The pools at Sonesta is fantastic, theres plenty of space to chill out around the pool area & there is plenty of sunbeds for all the guests...but you do need to get out early if you want a good seat for the day. There are plenty of places to eat at Sonesta, theres the Red Square restaurant which serves Russian Cuisine. I enjoyed the Beef Stroganoff here & the prices were good too. There is also an A La Carte Restaurant which serves Italian food & they play live music too which is relaxing. Then there is the main buffet lounge which serves buffet food at night & there is live entertainment. You can go halfboard at this hotel but i prefer to go bed & breakfast as eating out is cheap & there is lots to choose from.

we stayed at the sonesta beach hotel in august 2004. it was on the last week of our month in egypt so we only stayed for 5 days, which was regretted as we had such a good time and were desperate to stay longer. we received a warm welcome upon arrival, and all staff are very friendly, and do their best to make sure youre comfortable. we had a room by the pool side which was very convenient. the swimming pools are great. really big, separate one for children and thier is also a in-pool bar. the sonesta beach resort also has its own private stretch of beach which is amazing. however, it is shingle, and the futher out into the sea you go protective footwear is a must, otherwise cuts are inevitable. but it is worth is as the corals are amazing and the fish are beautiful.
the hotel is right in the centre of naama bay where all the restaurants and shops are. its great at night, as its so lively right into the early hours, but unlike britain, completely suitable for children. there is always so much to do as the resort is huge and you can always pass into neighbouring hotels for a wander! views are amazing, weather is fantasic. food at the sonesta is also very good!! were stayed half board so had breakfast and most days, dinner at the hotel. for both there is such a wide selection of food, for all tastes, so there is bound to be something for everyone. it is all well cooked and presented, not what i would have expected from a buffet! also at dinner there is always entertainment in the form of music and dancing which is always wonderful!

During our first stay in Na'ama Bay we visited the Sonesta Beach Resort daily and spent a lot of time at the private beach of the resort as paying guest. So we had the intention to book this hotel for our second stay in Na'ama Bay. Unfortunatily we couldn't find an appropiate package deal from the Netherlands. In the resort we found out that several travel agents skipped the resort because they started to sell only all inclusive arrangements. At the main entrance at the Peace Road are two cannons just for decoration, though the security check at the entrance is very severe. So you are not allowed to enter, if you are not living in the hotel. After talking with the reception and the manager we were allowed to walk around the complex while wearing a 'visitors' badge. In the complex are several shops and boutiques, restaurants, bars, a rooftop terrace, a dive centre and a private beach.
We especially liked the white arabic domed rooms, situated around the inner garden dominated by the romantic swimmingpool with a lovely bridge.
